1. Saddest/oddest/most shocking celebrity death and why?

Most shocking for me might have been Kurt Cobain, not because I was ever a hug Nirvana fan, but just because I can still remember where I was when I heard about it. Hutchins was certainly odd, but apparently auto-erotic asphyxiation is more common than we think, though the deaths are usually reported as "accidental suicide" to spare the family the ignomy. And Mitch Hedberg's death was certainly sad for me, but the one that, for me, can make a good running for all three is still Phil Hartman. Shot in his prime by a mentally unstable wife in front of their kids. There's no misguided glory in it. No honor, no purpose. It was just strange, and shocking, and very, very sad.
